Inspiré par la célèbre comptine, Bertrand Donnot sculpte la souris verte dans un bloc de marbre vert d’Italie. Elle est une illustration du roman qu'il a écrit L'extraordinaire quête du Bailli de la Brelaire.

Bertrand Donnot est né en 1949 à Vieillevigne, en Loire-Inférieure (future Loire-Atlantique). Il arrive à Montjean-sur-Loire par la Loire sur sa péniche il y a plus de 25 ans, pour sculpter le calcaire de Châteaupanne. Depuis son installation dans la commune, il est un participant assidu du symposium de sculpture monumentale. Ainsi, les rues de Montjean-sur-Loire se sont parées de nombreuses sculptures de l’artiste, qui a multiplié les expositions, collaborations et projets artistiques sur le territoire.

Description :
THE GREEN MOUSE (green marble from Italy) Bertrand Donnot took inspiration in the very well-known rhyme, and carved the mouse in a green marble stone from Italy. The carving is an illustration of his novel, “The Brelaire Bailiff’s extraordinary quest”.

Bertrand Donnot was born in 1949 in Vieillevigne in Loire-Inférieure, today the Loire-Atlantique department. He arrived in Montjean-sur-Loire on his barge more than 25 years ago, and started sculpting the Châteaupanne limestone. Since he settled in the village, he has regularly taken part in the monumental sculptures symposium. This explains the presence of many of his sculptures in the streets of Montjean. The artist appears in many exhibitions and contributes to the artistic projects all around

Carved in Châteaupanne limestone, one of Bertrand Donnot’s favourite materials, this frog has settled on the banks of the river and seems about to plunge into the water

Des bouchons de pêche en bord de Loire... Le courant les a poussés et ils ont dérivé finissant leur course plantés là, dans la vase.

Née en 1986, Nathalie Pitel suit des études aux Beaux-arts de Quimper. L'artiste effectue de nombreuses expositions et participe à plusieurs symposiums et résidences. Ses œuvres réalisées dans le métal se situent entre la sculpture et l'installation. En travaillant la matière d'une façon quasiment "archéologique", elle cherche à faire renaître quelque chose de vivant et d'organique, presque sacré.

FLOATS (painted and rusty steel)
Floats by the Loire, carried away by currents. They probably drifted before ending their race in sludge.

Presentation of the artist and his/her approach :
Nathalie Pitel, born in 1985, studied at the Art School of Quimper. She displays her works in various exhibitions and takes part in many symposiums and artist residences. Her works are made of metal and lie between sculpture and settling. As she warps stuff in a nearly “archeologic manner”, she tries to revive something organic and lively, almost sacred.

Né en 1960, Véca débute la sculpture en 1990. Autodidacte, il travaille aussi bien le métal que le bois. Son œuvre est marquée par une recherche permanente de beauté, d'harmonie des lignes et des courbes.

Born in 1960, Véca began sculpting in 1990. He is a self-taught man and he works metal as well as wood. His constant aim is to reach beauty, together with lines and curves harmony.

L'artiste a pensé à une sorte de table d’orientation où la Loire pose son trait auréolé de coraux, où les émergences sont des boules ou des creux, rappelant les monts et les carrières. La Loire, voie de toutes les migrations...

Présentation de l'artiste et de sa démarche :
Le mouzeillais Jean-Claude Lambert suit des études aux Beaux-arts de Rennes et de Nantes. Après avoir travaillé comme ouvrier dans le bâtiment, il se consacre à la sculpture aussi bien miniature que monumentale. Sa démarche artistique est tout d'abord anthropomorphique pour dans un second temps prendre un caractère plus cosmique. L'artiste sculpteur a créé un parc de sculptures monumentales à Mouzeil (44), devenue une vraie galerie d'art à ciel ouvert de quatorze hectares.

AN ORIENTATION TABLE The artist imagined a kind of orientation table on which the Loire lays a coral-haloed line and where emergences are balls or hollows and remind us of hills and quarries. The river is the path for every migration.

Presentation of the artist and his / her approach :
Jean-Claude Lambert, from Mouzeil in the Loire-Atlantique department, studied at Rennes and Nantes Art Schools. After working as a construction worker, he began making miniature as well as monumental sculptures. At first, he had an anthropomorphic approach; then this approach took a more cosmic aspect. He has created the monumental sculpture park in Mouzeil, which has become a 14 hectares open-air gallery.
